Lingerie Inspired Looks We Love

We discussed the trend of underwear as outerwear before on our Bra Doctor blog. It’s a very popular trend that so many are taking a part of, from our favourite celebrity starlets to our favourite fashion bloggers. Some fashionistas are even being snapped on the streets executing this trend in creative ways. Whether you’re using actual lingerie to showcase your lingerie inspired look, or buying a garment that takes cues from lingerie, you can make this trend work for you. To prove this, we’re highlighting some lingerie inspired looks we love and showing you similar lingerie to borrow the look.

Rumi Neely, Blogger of Fashion Toast | New York Fashion Week | PopSugar

This is probably one of the easiest lingerie inspired looks one can achieve, and we love the edge that Neely incorporated into her look during New York Fashion Week this year. A simple slip dress in a saturated deep red is a nice contrast to the dark, rigid bootie she paired it with. Minimalist accessories allow the slip dress to stand out on its own.

This easy piece is so comfortable, you’ll want to wear it everyday. There are also some great silky chemises from Change of Scandinavia that will help you achieve this look.

You can rock a bodysuit or a teddy outdoors easily; throw on a layer for a little bit of coverage (something that stays open) and, of course, some cool pants or even a skirt or short. We love the relaxed boyfriend jean Gianneli wore, tucked effortlessly into her boots. She tops it all off with a leather jacket, creating a juxtaposition between the softness of the lace bodysuit and the edge of the leather. We’d also love this look with a slim high waisted pant and oversized blazer.

Incorporate the look’s lacy elements with a black teddy that will feel just as secure as a bodysuit. We do have some more teddies that are a little more sheer if you want that risque look; just don’t forget your nipple covers!

Emma Roberts | Paris Fashion Week | WhereToGetIt

Letting your bra show underneath your top used to be a huge faux pas. Now, women of all shapes, sizes, and walks of life are embracing letting others see what they have underneath (at least some of it)! That includes celebrities, like the gorgeous Emma Roberts with her stunningly classy look during Paris Fashion Week. We love the muted palette of her ensemble with the blue bra poking through, showing the versatility of this trend with opting out of black sheer tops and lacy bras.

This very supportive yet comfortable bra mirrors the shape of Emma Roberts’ in her outfit almost completely. You can be sure you’ll feel secure letting this bra peek out of even the slinkiest sheer tops.
