When power duo Tina Fey and Amy Poehler are hosting an awards show, you know it’s going to be a fabulously hilarious night. The 2015 Golden Globes honored the talent in some of our favorite films and television series. Of course, many of us really treasure award season for the red carpet. This Golden Globes saw the stars seemingly playing it safe, save for a few who decided to take a cue from the runways and showcase some major trends. Here are some of our most coveted looks from this year’s festivities, as well as some that missed the mark for us.

BEST DRESSED

Emma Stone

Emma’s daring jumpsuit by Lanvin has her all over best-dressed lists. It’s no surprise, as Emma is an expert at dressing in fashion-forward looks that complement her personality. While Lorde and Tina Fey also chose to highlight the androgynous trend, Emma‘s perfectly tailored look is a winner among all.

Jenna Dewan-Tatum

Jenna Dewan-Tatum is always radiant, but her yellow Carolina Herrera gown, with its interesting cut and on-trend palette, had her absolutely glowing on the red carpet this year. She keeps her accessories minimal, and her new shorter do’ is adorable with the uber-feminine look.

Kate Hudson

The award for the sexiest look has to go to Kate Hudson, who showcased her incredibly healthy body in a low-V Versace gown with cut-out detailing. The stunning white number, with shimmering silver detailing, shows off Kate Hudson’s immaculate figure. Her pulled-back hairstyle and natural makeup allow the dress to speak for itself.

WORST DRESSED

Kerry Washington

This Scandal actress usually dominates the best dressed list; however, her two toned Mary Katrantzou gown failed to excite. The too-short hem on this dress just seems to stunt Kerry’s height and the ill fit distracts from how beautiful she is. Alternatively, the colours are stunning against Kerry’s skin, and she still looks beautiful despite the unfortunate wardrobe choice.

Amanda Peet

Again, Amanda Peet’s lavender draped dress overshadowed the actress’s beauty, as it was quite inappropriate for an event of such stature. The dress, by a currently unknown designer, does absolutely nothing for Amanda’s frame and washes out her complexion.

Amal Alamuddin Clooney

Amal’s look for the Golden Globes is an example of the importance of accessorizing appropriately. If it weren’t for those stark white gloves, Amal’s Dior gown wouldn’t have been such a miss. Her gown could have been more tailored to her body, but all in all, she looked stunning beside her new husband, George Clooney.
